Atlas the Dane

Oh my goodness. When I got the email that this dog’s mom wanted me to come over to photograph her great dane (!!!) I actually squealed a little. Danes are definitely in the running for my all time favorite breed (along with pitties, stubborn husky/shepherd mixes and anything with super-short legs)... and I’m just a little obsessed.

Atlas here signed up for a Life & Times of a Dog session, which meant he got some super snazzy studio portraits as well as some fun outdoor freedom shots. Enjoy!

Kirsty & Denny, A Fess Parker Wedding

Happy first anniversary, Kirsty and Denny! This was one of my favorite weddings from last year, a beautiful intimate elopement at Fess Parker Winery! I was the witness, and the only other people invited were my assistant, and the officiant! So sweet, and quite the honor to be a part of. Plus, fall in a vineyard is always a brilliant idea!

I can’t wait to some day photograph this amazing couple again… perhaps with their adorable pup (hint hint) and growing family!

The Kittens of Eastwick

A few weeks ago, a friend posted on their Instagram story a video of some kids playing with giant bubbles. And suddenly this idea hit me. The giant amorphous bubbles floated so ominously through the air that I immediately thought of ghosts. So I concocted this vision in my head, gathered a few friends to help me, and the images below are quite literally exactly what I pictured. I can’t explain how amazing it feels to do that!

Special thanks to: the gorgeous modeling by my amazing friend Joey who happens to also be a renowned dessert chef, the exceptional ghost-bubble-choreography by my friend Kelly, and for the adoptable kittens generously provided by Jill from ASAP cat shelter at the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter. That was my crew!

Enjoy! And I hope this inspires you to see the world a bit differently, to rescue black cats, and to be welcoming to all the restless spirits this Halloween season!
